Title Card Development
In the top left corner, the title "Ugly Fish Dinner is coloured in with colours pulled from Betty and Pavo's character designs. As Bettys colour scheme reflects that of a goldfish I decided the word Fish should have her colour scheme. I felt the title looked a little boring with just the single tone of orange and gray so I also brought in the colour of Bettys skirt and Pavo's pants to make it look a bit more interesting.
The middle left takes more inspiration from Bojack in toning it back with mostly white and a pop of colour to draw your eye to the fish on the letter I. I think this title looks very clean and will be easy to read, however I don't think its quite as recognizable
The bottom left I feel is a good balance between the first and second logo. When drawing the first logo I thought the F looked a little bit like a fishing rod, so I decided to give that idea a try, where it would be catching the fish dotting the I. I also wanted to bring in the water from the last logo, so I worked it into the remaining letters of fish.
The top right takes the most direct influence from OMORI. I wanted to really play with the setting of the restaurant and bring that into the logos design. I also again wanted to bring in the characters Colour palettes, so I used Pavo's colour for the words "Ugly fish" and Bettys colours for "Dinner"
The Bottom right was using the same lettering as the previous font but toning down the theming to put more focus on the text. inside the lineart I decided t do some layers of blue to symbolise water, and it gets darker at the bottom to help show the depth of the water.
I'm pretty happy with the variety of titles I managed to sketch up. Next I am going to work on developing them further and exploring how I could bring motion graphics or animation into the titles design to make it more dynamic.
