Brave recording process

Throughout this week I've been working on my Brave audio file between classes, I'm starting to feel a bit more comfortable using protools to edit and mix different sound files. I looked through the free music archive and found a piece of music under the celtic tag called "Beyond The Warriors" by Guifrog, which I really liked, and decided to use for my project.

I also found another track called "Fantasía del Bello Alcazar" by sawsquarenoise, but I found when I synched up both songs Beyond The Warriors just fit the scene and the timing a bit more, and I felt it would be an easier track to fade in and out as I editted the tracks.

The ADR I've put reverb and EQ on the tracks to help give the voice acting more of an outdoor feel to it. some of the eleanor dialogue fluctuates in volume so I balanced it out to be slightly more uniform where I felt it would be suitable. I also wanted to have different reverb for where Queen elinor is under the shelter vs her walking over to Merida as I felt having the same EQ wouldn't work as she changed her environment. I also wanted the voice to be heard clearly over the sound, so I tried a few different settings and volumes to make sure the dialogue would be audible.

This was what my final track ended up looking like! I think it would have been cool getting to look at more of the different features that protools has to offer as I really only had time to explore things we did similarly on Premiere like EQ and Reverb, however I found the multitool made it a lot faster to mork in compared to premiere, as I found it was annoying swapping back and forth or having to use shortcut keys. getting a chance to use both was pretty valuable, moving forward I think I might look more into in depth tools on both programs..
