Arcade digital painting

Digital painting backgrounds is something I really want to improve on, and something I find quite fun, so I wanted to challenge myself and do more of it. I found this photograph on twitter and thought it would make a cool computer wallpaper/painting, so I decided to paint a 1080p version to use for my computer. I think painting things with high contrast can be a lot of fun, and painting this I feel has helped with my sense of colour theory and composition

Using Wallpaper engine I also added various affects that react with any music or sound playing from the computer, and this was the result. Overall I'm really happy with how it turned out, I want to practice a bit more before I try to tackle a painting without a 1:1 reference, as I still want to try painting a variety of different sceneries and have a better understanding of colour, shading and blending.
all up the painting probably took 6-8 hours
