Comic Cover and back page sketch

I've started sketching out a few ideas for my comic book cover in my sketchbook. I find sketching in pen makes me commit to my ideas more and allows me to be looser and faster. Overall I was happy with these two designs. Originally they were both front cover ideas but I quite liked the idea of changing the first design into a back cover.

I think having all of the characters on the front is a good idea to introduce the reader to the characters before they  even start reading the comic. I think it also helps to set up some of the tension and setting of the story.
I think the back cover design also does this but with more of a focus on the main character.
I decided to mess around with some colours for both designs, as they're really rough but I feel like it makes the messy sketches a bit easier to read. I might mess around with the character colour schemes a bit more as I haven't put that much thought into them as they were just sketches up until this point, except for android 05, who I have developed for my 3D animation class.


I plan on sketching out a few more ideas in the next few days but I am pretty happy so far with what I have with just these thumbnail sketches. I'll also need to start thinking about a title or logo design for the comic.
