Stopmotion Shooting

Last week on Thursday and Friday I went in to finishing the last part of the stopmotion animatic. These were the 2D cutouts so it didnt take me very long to get through the shooting. I wanted to make sure we would have all the footage before the class we had this week so we could really focus on putting everything together in After Effects. 

There were quite a few different puppets and sizes used throughout the shooting, as we had a lot of different shots in out animatic. Cutting them out wasnt too tedious as the characters were mostly silhouettes , although some required to have small details like eyes and accessories  to be drawn on with paint pens. These were the cutout characters that I ended up drawing on the paper then cutting out 

I also shot some experimental footage to use for my Screenarts presentation, As Terry gilliam was my chosen pioneer. This scene had one of the most complex puppets which is Why I decided to experiment with the shot and the cutout character and see the limits of movement that could be achieved.
