Artist Statements
A good idea was to be specific about the influences of my art work/ Artist models
dont go into what didn't work, focus on what went well
describe different elements and styles of the scene itself,
The artist statement should be 150-200 words long, or around 2 paragraphs. How, What and Why are three main points that should be covered within the artists statement. The artist statement shouldn't go into too much detail, keeping it short will hold the readers attention more.
Emma's research project is a dynamic piece of environmental concept artwork that utilities depth while moving through the scene. The theme of her environmental concept artwork is a natural fantasy environment.
She is is using Photoshop to create her finished digitally painted layers and then putting them into Toon Boom Harmony to make fantastic use of the 3D tool to create depth as she animates a movement through the layers.
Her research project came to life from inspirations such as Concept Artist Sylvain Sarrailh. Emma wanted to create a dynamic concept artwork as she really likes concept art.
What: A dynamic environmental concept art focusing on a natural fantasy setting.
How: Layers created in Photoshop using textured concept artwork brushes, monochromatic values to separate depth, layer effects to establish colour, shading, texture and lighting within the scene. Movement created in Toon Boom using key frames, Depth between layers, timing and movement.
Why: Inspired by concept artworks from artists Sylvain Sarrailh and Vaughan Ling
