Pitch bible coverpage
Today in class I lined, coloured and finished my illustration that I'm planning to use for my pitch bible. I sketched quite a few ideas for my poster at the start of the year, but decided to redraw the few that I really liked with my improved art skills.
I ended up going with the one where Deedee is sitting on a floating island, as I feel it tells the reader a bit about the environment, character and story without giving too much away. I still need to decide on a comic book cover so its likely i might take some of the ideas I created for the poster and re purpose them got that.

Starting with the character, I wanted the style to match what might be seen in the final product. I made sure to use the same colour palette as the character animations I did in principals last semester. I also added in some character shading to give the character more sense of depth, but didn't blend it out as this is what I feel she would look like in animated form
For the background I did blend the shading and lighting into the image as usually backgrounds are stills and wont have to be drawn over and over again. I also took some time to colour the line art of the clouds to give it a less noticeable feeling to it.
I also wanted the title to stand out so I used a contrasting colour to make it stand out against the skies background. I also wanted it to look professional so I made sure to use a font as a base to make it look neat, then I went back and added gradients, an outline to the font as well as highlight details.
