Comic Character designs and silhouettes
Today in class we went through the different aspects of character design that should be taken into consideration, such as the shapes that make up a characters design, as well as silhouette and height.
For the character I decided to develop, I based his design mainly on triangles, to give him a more sharp and villainous look to him. I also paired this with the colour purple, as secondary colours are often associated with evil in comics, where primary colour schemes are often used for the heros.
Triangles in design are often meant to represent evil, where circles are perceived as friendly, and squares are perceived as solid and dependable.

I then created silhouettes of the two designs im planning to use for my comic, which is Deedee, an office worker girl, and her herolike persona Dream Warrior, who fights nightmares. Deedee is approximately 5 and a half heads tall. she is seen as weaker, but friendly and approachable, where when she transforms her design is a little taller to look more intimidating and athletic. the height change is kind of justifiable through her hero appearance only occurring within dreams and nightmares, where reality is kind of warped and not always the same as Deedees normal reality.
