Storyboarding Inspiration

https://www.sakugabooru.com/post
Sakugabooru has a lot of really nice clips of flashy animation from a lot of anime and cartoons, and the tag system makes it easy to sort through if you want to look at mechanical animation, special effects, fighting, walking etc. anyone can upload content to the site, but it has to be referenced properly. You can also sort through shots separated by shows or studios, and many posts also happen to have the specific animator who drew the shots, which is also good information to know.

They also have some genga shots, which refer to the key frames or pencils done before the final animation, similar to a storyboard but slightly more advanced. I always like seeing animatics and sketches before the final product, so I found this genre of sakuga/animation pretty cool to look at.

Gorillaz is a band I really like, and they have quite a lot of music videos based around the 4 fictional characters from the band, Russel, Murdoc, 2D and Noodle. Jamie Hewlett is the head animator for the band, and its really cool to see the progression in his style from the bands first album (released in 2001) to their latest album 'The now now', which released in 2018.

One artist that I really love the artstyle of is Temmie chang. She is most well known for being one of the artistic directors behind the indie game undertale, but I really love her art style and the fluidity and simple shades of her animation.
another online artist that has posted a lot of musical based storyboards is scribs. I really love their way of showing expressions and the timing and fluidity of their animation is really effective for something that is just meant to be an animatic. The use of different monochromatic shades with the occasional pop of colour also really helps to guide the watchers eye.
