Full name: Deedee West
Deedee was born in Hong Kong to a Chinese graphic designer mother and an American journalist father. She grew up in the city, but her family moved to America after Deedee was diagnosed with a mysterious illness and needed further help. Growing up Deedee was usually weak, tired and sick. A large portion of her childhood included visits to doctors and hospitals, so her social skills and coordination aren’t the best. While she missed a lot of school, she played a lot of online fantasy games and loved interacting with other users through the internet. She still enjoys playing fantasy MMORPG games, but tries to keep it as a secret. Despite her poor health, Deedee spent a lot of time reading and writing, and managed to graduate high school with great marks. Her sickness and fatigue inst nearly as bad as it used to be, but she was advised to take on office job that required little physical strain or exposure to the outside. Deedee often feels like a burden, so really likes going above and beyond and helping others out, but this can lead to her being a bit of a pushover. This also tires her out further, which doesn’t help with her health problems. She lives alone and works in a large accounting firm in the city. She has had the job for a few years, but she still holds a lower position in the company.
Deedee lives the closest thing to as what you could call a 'normal life', until one night, unable to rest, she searches online for ways to fall asleep and accidentally signs a contract where she must now fight off monsters in exchange for a full nights sleep. This gives her the power to transform into a dream warrior, a hero that fights nightmares and protects those who sleep. Her appearance also changes so her identity can be protected as she fights off the nightmares and protects the people who are in their dreams. She wields a cloud sword that is able to change forms into various different tools and weapons, as long as the overall mass of the object remains the same. She also has a magical bag of holding, which she uses to store defeated nightmare creatures, and has the ability to jump further distances and not experience fall damage when she is in the dreamscape, as reality is warped within that space. As a Dream warrior, Deedee feels a lot more confident and coordinated, but when she transforms back she remains mainly the same.
In regards to her appearance, Deedee cant have any jobs that are largely outside or that need a lot of physical strength, so she works in an office setting. To reflect this she wears smart casual attire, to match the uniform standards of the accounting firm. Deedee is also near sighted, so she wears large, circular glasses to help with her vision. She's also a bit clumsy, and often ends up tripping over, so she often has bandages on her knees or elbows. Deedee also wears a messenger bag to carry various things like paperwork, wallet, phone etc to and from work.
At home, Deedee wears pajamas that show her in a more natural/ less formal state. Her hair is let down and she wears an over sized tee shirt. She also wears the same glasses to help with her vision but she takes them off before sleeping. Deedee also wears bunny slippers, because she likes animals a lot but never really had any pets as a kid.
In her Dream Warrior state, Deedees hair colour changes from a dark navy blue to a vibrant sky blue. This allows her to be less likely to be recognised by people in the dreams that she helps, and also shows the fact that the dreamscape is different to the normal rules and laws of reality. Her outfit is mainly fantasy inspired, as Deedee subconsciously wished for it as she enjoys playing fantasy games online. The dress is lighter in weight and allows more free movements for combat. Deedees dress also features two of the items she was given to defeat the nightmares, the magical holding bag and the cloud sword.

In terms of expressions, Deedee tends to have a bad poker face so she tends to clearly show her emotions, but also tends to zone out a lot and can look quite unfocused at times due to her not used to socialising a whole lot. When she talks to people, she becomes a lot more expressive, and also tends to show her emotions more when she gets agitated or annoyed, but overall she wants to make the people around her happy, so she will try to put on a smile when dealing with others.
