This article describes the movie Zootopia and its positive effect on the Disney Animation Studios name as a brand, as in previous years they had been in fierce competition with other industry giants such as dreamworks and Pixar. Zootopia is an addition to the many well recieved newer Disney animated films such as Tangled and Wreck it Ralph.

This article follows the Disney film Zootopia's results in the Oscars for best Animated feature, as well as the other Oscar nominees and the more serious tonal shift that feature length animation is currently taking.
